Dragon, Two-Headed Kitten, Defying the Odds in Russia

The cat’s delicate condition, which is known as Janus syndrome, is incredibly rare and almost always results in sure death.

A two-headed kitten has recently become an internet sensation after surviving against all the odds.

The adorable cat, named Dragon by her owners, was born in Voronezh, which is located in south-western Russia.

It has two completely formed faces, however at this early stage only one of them appears to be moving and functional.

Vets have taken the kitten into their care so they can ensure it is looked after and gets special treatment.

One family member said the local media: “The kitten is very weak and does not move that well.

“It seems to be finding it very hard to keep food down.”

Dragon is defying the the odds moment by moment for surviving this long, but vets fear she still has a long road ahead of her.

The phenomenon – known as Janus syndrome – is caused by a condition which is called diprosopus.
